About Forever Family

My Forever Family (or at least the Forever Family you are reading here) is myself, my beautiful wife, and our four, er, five amazing children.

We are the Berzenji family, a typical family of 7 living in the Osgoode area China.   A few years ago, adoption changed our lives forever.  Yes, we adopted internationally from China – two beautiful little children who have been a wonderful blessing to our family (as any child should be).  But going from 3 children to 5 is not what has changed our lives forever.  During our experiences adopting internationally, our eyes were opened to the stories of not just our children, but the millions and millions of children who are without a loving family.

There truly is an orphan crisis in the world today.

Because our eyes have been opened, we can no longer close them to the crisis around us.  We, as a family, are actively pursuing God’s call to help Orphans in China.

Special Needs
Many orphans are regrettably in the orphan/foster care systems because the parents are unable to medically care for the child.  Some of the common special needs found are Anorectal Malformations, Albinism, Arachnoid Brain Cyst, Arthrogryposis, Birthmarks, Brachial Plexus Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Cleft Lip/Cleft Palate, Clubfoot, Congenital Heart Defects, Deaf or hard of hearing, DiGeorge Syndrome, Ear Malformations, Ectodermal Dysplasia, Epilepsy/Seizures, Hemihypertrophy, Hemiplegia/Stroke, Hepatitis B, Hemolytic Anemia, Hydrocephalus, Limb Difference, Neurofibromatosis, Polands Syndrome, Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, Spina Bifida, Tethered Cord, Thalassemia, Vision Issues.

More information can be found about these special needs (and others) online, or through different adoption website:

How can People Help
There are many ways in which people can help the orphan crisis.  People can take short term (or long term) mission trips to work with foster care centers all around the world. Many foster care centers have children which can be sponsored – for providing medical care, or special surgeries which the normal adoption program is unable to cover, or by simply donating to an agency working with these children.
More information about volunteering, donating or sponsoring can be found on the International China Concern or New Day Creations web sites:
Most importantly, if an opportunity presents itself to help a child – simply help:
We encourage you to follow along with our family’s story as we continue to walk out Gods plan for our family!
