Retreat....

So much has happened in such a short amount of time.
Since hearing the Call to go to China, and saying 'yes'.
So much has happened
So many challenges
~ cars driving into our home, broken arms, broken hands,
broken feet, new diagnosis' , new levels of grieving
raging and letting go.
Major house repairs,
never ending business trips that pulls Adrian away
from home to China 6 months over the past 12 months.

But God!.....
But God's people!

People have sacrificed for us, shown up unannounced and blessed us over and over and over again.  I know I am not alone.

With every storm we've faced ~ He has provided,
He has opened doors,
He has healed,
He has grown us.

Nothing has happened to us that He has not Overcome for us.

The constant Word that He has given me
over and over again has been,

“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.  The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”(exodus 14)

Can I be honest ~
It's not the battles that have worn me out
It's been learning to put my total trust in God.

To stand still.
To stand still.
To stand still.

To stop trying to do everything on my own

But I'm slowing learning.

And today I find myself so worn out.  So at the end of myself.
So I cried (literally cried y'all) for a rest.
A rest from myself.

And something incredible happened.

God provided yet another answer to my need,
and with the incredible love from 2 other adoptive families,

I am packing up my 5 kids today,
and we are driving 1325 km to PEI
To spend a week in a beautiful home.
To rest and refill
and to encounter God.

I can't stop crying.

Adrian is still in China, on work, he has been there 6 months over the past 12 months.  So I am doing this solo with a broken foot.

I am so excited.

God overwhelms me

Stay tuned for updates and incredible photo from one of the MOST beautiful places in the World, PEI
(and yes Action Figure Jesus is totally along for the ride!)
