Now Ontario just has to say yes...

So there we go... one step closer.  Now we just need the Ontario government to say yes.

uuuuuuh, you know IF this were OUR file.  Which I'm still not saying it IS or ISN'T.   ;-)
I mean, I'm just posting a random email, from a random InBox about an absolutely RANDOM topic.

My wife is still reallly bad at keeping secrets though...

  1. This part of the process sounds pretty stressful for random families who are waiting for Ontario to approve something. Is it usual that at this point everything goes through or is it possible that Ontario would not approve it? I don't fully understand the Canadian process--or the US process for that matter. :)

  2. Well, here is where we are at:

    - we have Ontraio pre-Approval to adopt (think Morgate for a house pre-approval, we know what we are allowed, but no specific house/child is identified yet)
    - we not have China Conditionally Approval to adopt this little guy
    - we now have to send China ALL our paper work for them to give us the final approval based on our whole life history
    - we now have to present this little guy to the Ontario Government for final approval on THIS little guy

Once that is done, then its mostly rubber stamping from there on in.

I could be dis-remembering things... but thats how I remember it.

  3. I'm just wondering how the whole process works, you know, for someone who might be interested....
seeing that we've adopted before, might be into adopting again... from China, maybe... sweet little angles they do have there...

  6. OK, it sounds like up North you--uuuuhh, I mean some random someone/family somewhere, has what we would call pre-approval down south and the rest is a formality. Gotta keep all those government folks working!

I am feeling randomly happy for this sweet little guy and some random family.

  9. Congratulations! The child in the picture (who I realize may or may not be the child you are matched with!) is precious!

I am starting an online adoption resource for families and am wondering if you would be okay with me adding your blog to the list of "Canadian Adoption Blogs"? Please let me know at adoptionmagazine@gmail.com. Thanks so much and all the best with your adoption!
