Today is Robertas birthday... right about now, shes sitting at Montanas with some friends, probably getting a phone call from some friends who couldn't make it to Ottawa, and hopefully having a great time.
I on the other hand, have been here with the "Screaming Wonder!" Yes, I think Ping has found her new super powers!
Oh the poor child cried for Mama for what seemed like forever. This sad little Ma ma whimper, or a full fledged blood curdling Ma ma scream.
We made it through, and I'm glad that she is attaching so well with her Mother. Wish she felt better about being left with the big scary guy... but then again, considering how rough and rugged I am, I could understand her fear and trepidation.
I'm just waiting for the day still where she says "Daddy stay!", instead of "Mommy stay!". Or really, right about now, I'd settle for just "Daddy stay in the other room and I'll stop screaming". :-)
Below is another one of my songs about staying...
Beautiful song, Adrian. You are talented. You are an amazing writer too.
ReplyDeleteAwe. I know it is hard. DH had the same experience with Josie. There were no men working in her orphanage and DH is 6'4" freckles and reddish brown hair-- about as far from Chinese looking as you can get without being Sweedish. LOL.
ReplyDeleteIt took several months before I could leave without Josie crying hysterically. She still tears up if she sees me in the morning before I leave for work. Hmmm, for some reason not if I leave in the evening.
We think she left her orphanage (and her favorite Ayi) early in the morning when we adopted her and that my early morning departures are a trigger to those feelings.
It takes time and a lot of paitence-- but Ping will want you, trust you. You are doing everything right!
Sorry for being so late !!! I didn't know, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERTA !!!

Another fantastic song Adrian! A very happy birthday to Roberta from us. Hoping it was a great one.
ReplyDeleteHope your birthday was amazing Roberta and that you had a great time to recharge!
ReplyDeleteAdrian - you are very talented and we hear your heart. Keep writing as you are speaking for us too. Thanks for sharing!
Happy belated birthday Roberta! Adrian, you and my husband could start your own support group. If Ethan could talk he would 'Bu Yaow' Alan as well.
ReplyDeleteJuanita in Winnipeg. The one not related to you guys :P
When Emma calls during the night (she's 3.5yrs for those who don't know me), she ALWAYS calls for "mum". Yet 99.99999999% of the time I'm the one who goes in to see her - and she knows that. Weird.
